'Tilting at Windmills: A Retrospective' is an endeavor that Brett Stewart (Rivers Rubin) embarked on nearly ten months ago. This collection of thirty songs was painstakingly rediscovered, curated, and remastered throughout all of 2016.

This collection includes Rubin's own favorite tracks of the last seven years and fan favorites. Also included are a number of unreleased tracks, demos, and live cuts. By and large, these songs do descend in reverse chronological order, 'Annabell' being the oldest recording of the thirty. (There are a few instances, however, where tracks were written in one year and recorded in another.)

A message from Rivers Rubin:

"This album was a labor of love to put together. For most of this year, I've dug through endless notebooks, hard-drives, CD's, and more to discover songs that have been left untouched since the day I recorded them. This collection, I'd argue, is a reflection of my teenage years moving into adulthood. The songs were written between ages 13 and 20. Every piece of joy, heartbreak, love, and misery is as poignant to me as the day I felt it. It's a powerful thing to put it all in one place after all these years. Enjoy this retrospective."
