Every story has to have a beginning. For Brett Stewart, now known as Rivers Rubin, that beginning is 'Masquerade.' The Twin Thieves were a collaboration between Brett Stewart and guitarist Larson Ross; an endeavor that produced two records. The first of the two is 'Masquerade,' an atmospheric indie rock record that defines the early days of Stewart's songwriting.

When listening to 'Masquerade' now, it's intriguing to get a glimpse into the early stages of a a very long musical pursuit. The Twin Thieves would lay the groundwork for Underground Oceans, and later, Rivers Rubin.
